History of Interior Architecture

This course introduces students to interior architecture from the early 19th through the late 20th century. Using examples from across the globe, the class examines interiors and objects through a critical framework that considers global power structures and local cultural contexts. Throughout the semester, students develop a research project tied to the program’s yearly theme, design their own display, and install their final work for the Open House Gallery Exhibit.
